Bangsar Shopping

Bangsar isn’t particularly known for its shopping, but there are still a large number of shopping outlets and a few malls in the area and the night market which takes place here on Sundays from early evening until late.    There are two main shopping malls, Bangsar Village and the Bangsar Shopping Centre.

Bangsar Village
This mall was formerly a large hypermarket which was renovated and transformed into the current mall.  The Bangsar Village has proven to be a popular attraction for its shopping and dining although it is only a small building that accommodates a limited number of shops.   A second block named ‘Bangsar Village II’ was built just across the road which offers many more fashion outlets, restaurants and other shopping attractions.  Some of the fashion brands available here include Guess, Aldo, Noir, Raoul, Liz Claiborne, Padini and Lara.  Spas and fitness centres such as well as many beauty saloons can be found among the many shops.

Bangsar Shopping Centre
This is located further from the main Bangsar area. This mall has been in the area for a long time and houses a good range of fashion outlets, specialty shops, pharmacies and a supermarket. A flea market takes place in the mall every Saturday morning.
The best shopping opportunity is not actually within Bangsar itself, but very near it; the Mid Valley Shopping mall is one of the largest in Southeast Asia.

Mid Valley
Mid Valley Megamall has over 400 shops and outlets, but more are due in future when the full Mid Valley City project takes shape. In the mall, one can find everything under the sun, from fancy fashion outlets to cheap electronic goods and groceries to fast food outlets. So popular is Mid Valley for shopping that the mall features prominently as a major tourist destination and a definite stop-over during Kuala Lumpur shopping tours.
