Bukit Bintang is one of the most popular places for locals to shop, because it caters to all tastes and budgets.
Sungei Wang Plaza
Sungei Wang Plaza has been awarded best Shopping Complex by Tourism Malaysia in 1996 and 1997. It has over 500 shops, it’s hard to know where to start – I’ve been many times and have only recently made it to the top floors! It is a very popular centre with tourists and locals alike and weekends are very busy.
There is a supermarket on the ground floor and Sungei Wang is also home to the Parkson Grand department store where there is a fantastic selection including larger sizes in clothes. There are many shoe shops in Sungei Wang Plaza but some do not stock larger size shoes (above size 8 ladies) although in recent times, there has been more selection.
On the 3rd floor, Madam Chu has a dress-making and sewing shop. Prices are very cheap and service good, if your clothing needs adjusting call in and see her. A-Look Eye Wear have great options for prescription glasses – prices start from MYR 168.
There are plenty of money-changers in this complex if you run out of cash!

Adjoining Sungei Wang Plaza is Bukit Bintang Plaza (BB Plaza), this is home to the Metro Jaya department store which has larger sizes in clothing and a great kids clothes selection.
Highly recommended is River Beauty Salon where those ladies in need of some relaxation after all that shopping, can have a fantastic facial or massage – ask for Siew Siew or Alyce.
Prices are very cheap and the massages start from MYR 120 for two hours.
AL Jewellery has a kiosk which has a great range of costume jewellery at excellent prices.

Department stores include Tangs, Parkson Grand and Mercarto.
The food court offers the most sensational selection of restaurants and cafes, arguably one of the best food courts in KL.
For something entirely different, try the Kenko Fish Spa on Level 5.
Immerse your feet into a pond where fish will nibble at your feet, removing the dead skin and leave your skin feeling soft and smooth – not recommended for the ticklish!

Starhill Gallery
This centre is connected to the JW Marriott Hotel and offers shopping experiences at the high-end of the scale with mostly designer shops including Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Christion Dior and many others. White-gloved doormen will open doors for you if you choose to go inside any of the shops, prices are rarely displayed in their windows!
The highlight of the Starhill Gallery must be the Feast Village, situated on the ground floor.
There are 14 restaurants to choose from including Spanish, Indian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Thai and seafood. The food is fantastic and the prices reasonable. You must check out the toilets – water to wash your hands is provided by an attended turning the water wheel!

Low Yat Plaza
The ultimate shopping heaven for IT geeks and gadget freaks.
Low Yat Plaza is a popular centre for electronic and IT products in the city. You can find everything you need here under one roof, from cameras to computers, at highly competitive prices.
A great place to send the men while you are doing “real” shopping!
Offering a wide range of options and variety, be prepared to end up spending a whole day here – even if you’re just looking for one item. The beauty of Low Yat Plaza is that unlike any other typical IT centres, most of the shops here are related to each other, so that you can combine your purchases for the best deal. Each floor is dedicated to a specific type of products, with the top three floors devoted to IT-related products.

The overhead bridge from Sungei Wang Plaza will take you to Lot 10 with a green exterior. Lot 10 is pricier than Sungei Wang and BB Plaza. It has the department store Isetan which offers a great golf section.
